Special Olympics

April 11th, was the state Special Olympics basketball tournament in Oshkosh. The Able Church has two teams, in which one of them made it to the state tournament.........and won first place!  Coaches included Roger Wied, Bill Woods and Camp Daniel's Nick Sterry and Interns Betty Miller and Evan Hartwig.

The Attack is the only church team in the state of Wisconsin, possibly the only church team in the nation. It offers a great opportunity The Able Church to represent Christ in the disability community, as well as, to get The Able Church and Camp Daniel name out there.  It also provides opportunities for the athletes to learn to work together as a team and learn how put into practice what they learn at The Able Church.

Camp Daniel & The Able Church Go to a Hockey Game!

Saturday, Camp Daniel and The Able Church members went to the Green Bay Gamblers Hockey game at the Resch Center. It was a great time, even though the Gamblers lost.

Papa Tony's 75th Birthday!

On March 26th, Papa Tony turned 75! Family and Camp Daniel staff celebrated with a "surprise" party at the Hartley House. Grandma Jo made Papa's favorite pasta dinner and Annissa made a cake, beautifully decorated with a variety of berries.

It was also Papa Tony's granddaughter, Molly's, birthday and they were able to celebrate together.

Since all the grandchildren were together, it was a great time to get a picture!

Living Hope Church Deacon's Retreat

This past weekend, Camp Daniel hosted the Living Hope Church Deacon's Retreat. About 25 men serving as deacons at Living Hope Church in Green Bay came up Friday night for training, worship, and chance to spend some time together. Once again, we were joyed to share our facilities and provide a place for people to come together and grow.
